Christmas television has always been something special to look forward to and this year more than ever it feels like we all need some great home entertainment to light up our living rooms! Across the nation, millions of people are eagerly looking forward to a bumper schedule of comedy, drama, sport and entertainment. I remember growing up with the excitement of flicking through the Christmas Radio Times and TV Times, searching for seasonal specials of my favourites from Only Fools and Horses to Morecombe and Wise; it's a time when iconic TV moments are made.

With expectations at their highest, a huge amount of work goes into making every show as good as possible. To get the call saying that your show had been given a Christmas special is the ultimate endorsement, and I have been lucky enough to work on some of the best over the years. This year has seen us adopt many new ways of working from zoom calls to masks to social distancing. But the television industry is built on creativity and with some brilliant innovations from our technology team and imaginative ways of writing and filming, the last few months have seen broadcasters and productions companies from all over the country using our studios and post production facilities to make their Christmas programmes. Here is dock10's very own Christmas list!

Sports fans will love Sports Personality Of The Year live from dock10 and the team from Match of the Day and Football Focus will keep you updated with all of the football action. We have quiz drama with Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and plenty of silliness with an 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown Christmas Special. Alan Carr is back with his Epic Gameshow Christmas Special, and we also have a Christmas University Challenge, Lingo, The Big Quiz - Coronation St vs Emmerdale, and a host of shows from CBBC including the Blue Peter Christmas Special and Crackerjack making a welcome return to BBC one – plus a very special broadcast on New Year's eve.

As well as working on many of these studio shows, our Post Production team has been busy with more Christmas treats including: It'll Be Alright On The Night At Christmas, Celebrity: A 21st Century Story, Cliff King Of Christmas, George's Last Christmas, Christmas in Storyland, Max and Harvey: FOMO and The Archbishop's Christmas and New Year Message.

We're immensely proud that over Christmas and the New Year families across the country will be watching so many great programmes that has been made in our studios and post production. Despite the challenges of the year, we have a full Christmas stocking of shows made at dock10 for everybody to enjoy, so from our family to yours, Merry Christmas and thanks for watching!
